CMS websites explained

The Internet has evolved at a rapid pace, particularly over the last five years.

It is no longer acceptable or practical to have a static website which is hard to update.

Both visitors and the search engines love to see fresh new content on your website every time they visit.

This is where Content Management Systems (CMS) come in. Basically a CMS draws information to be displayed on a page from various sources using a database, and creates the page “on the fly” using these sources, such as images from the images folder, text from a text file, forms from…. you guessed it a stored form file.

We have used many available commercial and free open source CMS, and prefer WordPress because of its great development and ready availability of excellent plug-in that extent the core functionality of the software. In addition, it is very easy to use and update, indeed with a couple of hours training you can confidently update the website yourself!

Now, there are a couple of ways to go about designing a WordPress website. The cheaper option is to choose from one of our hundreds of commercial templates that we have purchased and have resale ownership rights to. We modify the chosen template to suit your requirements, and when we are done the result is stunning. The second option is to begin the design from scratch, we mock up designs in Adobe Photoshop, and once approved we slice and code the design so it becomes a fully working WordPress website!

Whatever your choice, our experience and knowledge of this outstanding platform will ensure a successful project from start to finish.
